1974 MV Agusta 750S

SOLD

1974 MV AGUSTA 750 America. A magnifiicently preserved example of impeccable provenance with only 1200 original miles. This bike was a personal gift from Count Agusta to Jim Cathernson who was a US MV dealer influential in the concept and design of this model. He visited the factory in the fall of '74 with Chris Garville who was the US distributor. To quote Cycle, May 1975, "The American duo proposed a series of changes to update the existing 750 MV Agusta. The factory took their proposals under advisement and began work on a revamped roadster. Garville and Cotherman, working in concert with factory personnel, saw the new motorcycle, embodying their suggestions, literally take shape." The article then goes on to say that the prototype was finished inside of 50 days. This puts its completion date of 1974. This motorcycle is thought to be the 1st 750 America built and was used by MV as the factory prototype-display machine. This bike is engine number 1. It is still on its MSO. It also includes the original factory warranty, certificate and cards, which verify the original frame and engine numbers. Also included is the original brochure and parts book. This bike was exotic and expensive when new at $6000. Just ask anyone who has owned one or heard one running, it was worth the price then and well worth the asking price today. You need to ask yourself how many more opportunities will present themselves in your lifetime. Only a select few have the good fortune to make this machine a consideration, let alone a reality.
