1967 Munch Mammoth 1200TTS
SOLDThis Munch was built in 1967, then sold to a german man shortly after it was made...I assume new. It had a yellow tank, and a steib s 500 attached to it. The german man, the origianl owner, has not been found yet. He rode the Munch all the way to Cape Town, and back to Johanesburg. He spent a year or so there, and sold the Munch for his return trip, as he simply ran out of money. The Munch was sold, and or traded for a 500 Suzuki two stroke to Jimmy and Jenny Bramley of Johhanesburg. The Bramleys used it thru the 70's as their transportation...to work and back, drag racing on weekends. They sold it later to their friend John Hinshaw. John shipped the Munch to his friend Stan Zangel (from Johanesburg/Zimbabwai) to the U.S. Stan immigrated to Huntsville Alabama around 1981. Stan and his wife's immigration was sponcered by members of the vintage BMW club, run by John Harper of Huntsville. The Munch sat for years, until a man from Minnesota bought it. There are pictures in Dave Manthey's book, that show the day Dave bought this "South African Munch", and took it back to Portage Wis. The Much comes with registration, title, and the owners manuel when bought new. Freidel Munch used to send parts to all three South African owners.
